Abstract
This session is to enable the learner to determine the impact of workplace violence on Emergency Department staff and clinical and/or ancillary staff at risk of compassion fatigue. Healthcare workers suffer more workplace abuse than any other profession. It has become "part of the job," however it does impact staff and can contribute to stress thereby impacting compassion fatigue. This area of research directly relates to strengthening a healthy work environment.
