Abstract

Emerging evidence suggests that psychosocial factors are associated with cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk. The impact of these stressors on cardiovascular health in African American women aged 19-24 years is limited. This review summarizes and synthesizes the recent literature on psychosocial stress and CVD risk factors in young African American women.
