Abstract

Considering the likely long-lasting impact of the pandemic, nursing schools can prepare their students with the knowledge/competencies related to telehealth through nursing simulation. The project purpose is to describe a best practice through the integration of a telehealth-based simulation activity in a for-profit, pre-licensure, undergraduate nursing school in South Florida. During periods of social distancing, telehealth has considerably emerged as a strategy to meet the various healthcare needs of patients across the country. This innovative project was designed to expose nursing students with the skills, clinical reasoning, communication, and informatics skills required to manage patients in today's evolving healthcare landscape.
