Abstract

Session presented on: Sunday, November 17, 2013:

This panel session is designed to share experiences and lessons learned in building academic nursing scholarship, education, and service. The symposium will move from the macro to the micro level, beginning with a discussion of the context for academic global nursing within a broad university setting (overview of NYU Global Network University structure). Next will be a presentation of strategies employed to build the Global division within NYU College of Nursing and current results. Finally, two illustrative and informative case example presentations will be given: one on a Ghana diabetes project, and one a presentation of interprofessional faculty-building efforts for health workforce in Rwanda and in the Republic of Georgia.
