This symposium will provide a comprehensive overview of the details of the transformational process of one School of Nursing's journey in refocusing and realigning outcomes to improve student learning and achievement. Presented will be the process faculty underwent in preparing for professional accreditation and developing a more meaningful assessment plan in connecting best practices to curriculum in order to assess student outcomes. The assessment process of how one school of nursing moved from an end of program evaluation to a more comprehensive look at the assessment of student learning, as well as student and faculty outcomes will be discussed. This presentation will illustrate how this school structured its assessment plan to align with the academic institution's mission and goals. Participants will glean insights into how the assessment plan was constructed to include meaningful assessment measures and how data were used to inform curricular decisions. This presentation illustrates how one program's journey on restructuring an assessment plan into a more meaningful process can inform the decision-making process and influence student and program outcomes.
