Three Perspectives on Implementing Global Nursing Leadership in Your Setting [Symposium]

Abstract

Session presented on Monday, November 9, 2015: Through our Southern California STTI Research Consortium discussions, we discovered several outreach efforts are happening on our campuses and service settings that support the presidents theme "Serve Locally, Transform Regionally and Lead Globally". Further discussion led us to quantify what is being done to establish international involvement and to develop this symposium to share how you, your staff and students can become involved. Through this symposium we will cover the staff nurse perspective, the research opportunities and student nurse led development with international exposure and involvement. We will describe how relationships abroad are developed; demonstrate how staff and students can be instrumental in improving the world's health with tiny steps one after another, will show how immeasurable personal satisfaction can be enhanced through just a little effort. You will end this hour with tools to initiate programs in your own setting when you return from this conference.
