Abstract

Poverty is a social determinant of health. Using a Poverty Simulation near the end of a nursing program is an effective teaching strategy to increase nursing students' perceived understanding of poverty. This study evaluates the effect of the program, whose mission includes social justice education, on understanding of poverty.
