Plenary Session 3

Abstract

In this session, Drs. Madigan and Thompson review how personal and professional core values impact how we deal with change, and how they direct our behavior when faced with change. Using Lewin's Change Model as an illustration of the change process, attention will be given to how values direct our judgment and choices in a variety of settings. Impending organizational changes at Sigma Theta Tau International will be used as an illustration of how one's core values and perspective impact the ways that change is accepted and implemented.

By the end of the session, participants will be able to: Explain Lewin's Change Model; Define what is meant by "core values"; Give examples of ways to positively deal with change.
