Promoting Cultural Competence Through Service Learning
Abstract
Intercultural sensitivity is a component of cultural competence. Culturally competent care is required in the academic preparation of baccalaureate nursing students. Service learning presents the opportunity to educate students to become socially responsible nurses. The use of the Intercultural Sensitivity Scale (ISS) measures affective learning outcomes.
