Abstract

This observational, cross-sectional study examined 104 NICUs where 6060 nurses reported on the characteristics of their unit and 15,233 infants they cared for on their last shift worked. Parental presence is significantly associated with better nurse work environments where strong managerial and leadership encourage and facilitate parental presence.
