Abstract

An innovative Gerontological Competency tool and toolkit were developed and tested among pre-licensure nursing students across a large southwestern state. Discussion includes comparisons between DEU and non-DEU settings. Strategies are presented for engaging collaborating nursing staff with pre-licensure students in a novel manner adaptable across national and international settings.
