OPENING PLENARY: Influence to advance global health and nursing
Abstract
During the opening plenary, details were shared on the progress of the organization and feedback on the state of the society in general. Attention was given to initiatives that supported Dr. Catrambone's STTI presidential call to action as the organization celebrates achievements of members, chapters and the organization. Over the past biennium, under the leadership of President Cathy Catrambone, PhD, RN, FAAN, The Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) board of directors has made monumental decisions affecting the future of our organization. Now is the time for nurses to leverage our expertise, to influence the health of the world's people, and to advance the nursing profession through advocacy, policy, philanthropy, and lifelong learning. Milestones include global regional councils, the completion of an international Chief Executive Officer search and STTI branding.
