Abstract

Nursing students in an elective course applied healthy nutrition principles to patient care and learning related to healthy menu planning, cooking and team leadership for specific chronic diseases (heart disease, cancer, and/ or diabetes). This class further supported community outreach and preparation of meals that healed and provided nutritional health awareness.
