Abstract
A direct practice improvement (DPI) project was implemented at the acute care for the elderly (ACE) unit of a large urban trauma hospital in Northern California to determine whether an evidence-based educational intervention for staff registered nurses (RNs) would improve the accuracy of sepsis screenings performed on elderly hospitalized patients.
