Abstract
Maternal mortality continuous to plaque many countries. Midwives are the bedrock for quality peripartum care and they are pivotal to reducing maternal deaths. However, their experiences affects their practice of midwifery. Absence of support and strategies to manage their experiences have implications for midwifery practice and patient care.
