Abstract
Are you struggling with what to say to patients and families who are struggling with fears associated with the virus? This webinar is intended for all nurses, across all clinical settings. The webinar offers tips and communication skills that will help nurses lead the way in providing quality, compassionate care for those seriously ill with COVID-19 and their families Objectives:
- Discuss the role of primary palliative care communication techniques to respond to the fears and concerns of patients and families during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Describe three essential communication skills needed to support patients, families, communities, and colleagues during the coronavirus crisis.
- Develop your own toolbox of words and phrases that will help you, the nurse, respond to questions that patients who are seriously ill and their families have as a result of the coronavirus crisis
