Abstract
In the months ahead, nursing students around the world will be graduating and entering the professional workforce. Their final semester has transpired much differently than planned, and the future is uncertain. Participants will reflect upon their recent losses and explore mechanisms to prepare for their journey entering into professional practice. This webinar is designed for graduating nursing students or nurses who have recently entered the profession within the past year.
Objectives:
- Describe different types of grief from the perspective of nursing students approaching graduation or nurses who have recently entered professional practice
- Identify strategies for responding to loss amidst the COVID-19 pandemic
- Develop mechanisms to prioritize competing challenges and uncertainties
- Explore methods to foster resilience and promote self-advocacy upon entering professional practice
