Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the direct and indirect influence of the type of educational program attended on the data collection and nursing diagnosis (NDX) identification abilities of generic nursing students from associate degree (AD) and baccalaureate degree (BD) nursing programs. Secondary purposes were to determine if there were any differences between the AD and BD students with regard to (1) data collection efficiency, (2) data collection proficiency, (3) the type of patient data collected, and (4) the number and types of NDXes identified. A non-equivalent groups, post-test only design was utilized.
