Abstract

Little is known about how nurses build their knowledge beyond skills and tasks. Nurses may develop the ability to use a number of objective and subjective information sources to recognize the patterns of healthcare, behavioral, and social issues. The purpose of this study was to describe the development of pattern recognition in pediatric nurses in an acute care setting.
