Abstract

The aim of this project was to evaluate provider readiness for implementation of best practice TIC of children in primary care practice. The first focus of the project was to assess provider readiness related to TIC. The next focus was determining best practices for TIC. The final focus was developing the steps to implementation of TIC best practices in local primary care practice. TIC implementation into the care of children in primary care has the potential to decrease the suffering of the child and family and positively impact future mental and physical health of children, which impacts the community as well. By understanding provider's readiness, TIC best practices, and creating a template to assist in implementation, TIC will become part of the local daily health care practices and improve the health of the patient, the family unit, and the community.
