Abstract

There was an identification of a current lack of intervention addressing substance use and its role in stroke occurrence and reoccurrence at a comprehensive stroke center acute care hospital. Determine if educating stroke providers on the utilization and benefits of screening, brief intervention, and referral for treatment (SBIRT) for substance use disorder (SUD) increases provider confidence and changes attitudes regarding treating patients with substance use disorder.
