Abstract
Interdisciplinary communication and teamwork in the health care setting are crucial for patient safety. A mental health and substance use clinic identified that poor staff satisfaction was related to inadequate communication and teamwork, affecting patient safety. Team Strategies and Tools to Enhance Performance and Patient Safety (TeamSTEPPS®) training and tools were implemented to improve multidisciplinary staff satisfaction, teamwork perceptions, and behaviors. Creating a consistent and dependable care processing method with a safer health care environment was the project goal.
