Abstract
Female genital mutilation (FGM) is a harmful cultural practice that poses severe physical and psychological repercussions for women and girls. This abstract discusses the multifaceted approach necessary for empowering women through education and support systems to overcome the sexual and mental health consequences associated with FGM. FGM often leads to adverse sexual health outcomes, including complications during childbirth, chronic pain, and reduced sexual satisfaction, while also contributing to long-lasting mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
