Signs and symptoms of the actively dying

Abstract

Nurses new to caring for patients who are actively dying during the COVID-19 pandemic may need educational support to be aware of the signs and symptoms during final hours of life. Physical, psychological, social and spiritual symptoms and interventions are presented in this handout.

Description

The project, administered by City of Hope, provides undergraduate and graduate nursing faculty, CE providers, staff development educators, specialty nurses in pediatrics, oncology, critical care and geriatrics, and other nurses with training in palliative care so they can teach this essential information to nursing students, practicing nurses and other healthcare professionals.
