Abstract

This session will share the evolvement from the previous course design to the faculty development model currently in place. The presentation will focus on the planning meetings, confirming simulation faculty development instructors and training, securing Certified Medical Education (CME) , scheduling, building and maintaining an online component, designing the flow of the two day workshop, course dry run/pilot, advertising the course, how the course is evaluated and updated, statistics gathered, and overall personal experiences. Challenges and successes will be shared as well as long-term goals and future implementations within the current program. Participants will be encouraged to ask questions throughout the presentation in order to relate best to the content at hand as well as at the conclusion of the presentation. The presentation will not only focus on the formal faculty development course, but rather the additional professional development opportunities that we provide as a resource as well. These include tailored train-the-trainer sessions and quarterly 2 hour bursts of simulation education with specific topics.
