Abstract
The purpose of this educational activity is designed to share with NPD Practitioners evidenced-based strategies that will maximize survey response rates. The Tailored Design Method is one method used to accomplish this. Creating web-based surveys is the mode of survey highlighted. With enhanced technologies, creating web-based surveys are what NPD Practitioners and nurse researchers should consider as an option to other forms of survey and questionnaire design. If crafted the proper way, a well-designed web survey can provide useful data with acceptable sample sizes, adequate enough to generalize their findings.
With enhanced technologies including mobile devices, smart phones, tablets, and laptops, many people have become accustomed to using these devices for all kinds of activities including banking, shopping, dating, and educating themselves. NPD Practitioners can use web-based surveys in a variety of ways including a venue to conduct needs assessments, as part of their teaching methods during the delivery of an educational activity, as a format to collect participant responses for a program evaluation, and during their research.
