Abstract

Throughput is a vital in a functioning ED and is comprised of factors including door to triage, door to doc, door to disposition, and length of stay. To improve patient throughput and communication between ED and inpatient nursing staff in an urban children’s hospital, a collaborative throughput initiative was implemented.
