Abstract

Patient safety events have traditionally been difficult to escalate from the bedside to executive leadership teams and events that have similar circumstances at multiple sites that occurred within a healthcare system have been challenging to intervene on quickly. Organizational leadership sought a process to efficiently communicate patient safety concerns daily throughout the system. The objective of this project is to highlight the emergency department's role in escalating patients safety concerns, quality metrics, and complex patient situations that require interdisciplinary planning.
