Abstract
The coronavirus pandemic has made care of patients and their families during the final hours of life uniquely challenging. Families are often not able to be with their loved ones during the end of their lives. Nurses are creating ways to help families virtually say goodbye to their loved ones and have the closure needed to avoid a complicated bereavement period. This document helps the nurse with communication tips, ethical issues, spiritual care needs, selected symptom management related to COVID-19, and care during the final hours.
