Abstract
Poor oral health has been linked with negative child health outcomes, including early childhood dental caries (ECC), a leading Healthly People 2030 public health concern. Health and racial disparities put disadvantaged children at a higher risk for developing ECC. The nursing profession has the opportunity to play a leadership role to promote oral health equity through appropriate health promotion and disease prevention "best practices." This webinar will discuss recommended oral health practices to tackle ECC, as well as explore strategies to promote oral health racial and health equity related to access, availability, and affordability.
