Abstract

Programs insterested in contributing to women's empowerment should consider the importance of early, targeted investment in girls and women to prepare them for a range of opportunities and capabilities in nursing and midwifery, contributing in turn to a future generation of empowered, economically stable women.

Goals:

1. To discuss and eplore what investment in nursing and midwiferey enterprise and associated education and training means for empowering women and strenthening maternal health services.

2. Fosted dialogue centered on incorporating women's empowerment goals and activities as a core of work focused on strengthening health systems worldwide.

3. To share lessons learned, knowledge and best practice focusing on supporting, scaling up and sustainable services.
