Abstract
The purpose of this project was to increase the early identification of suicidal ideation in patients in the primary care setting and promote prompt referral to a behavioral point-of-care contact by implementing an evidence-based protocol. The main objectives of the project were to provide provider education regarding suicide assessment and prevention, increase the point-of-care referrals to behavioral health services and encourage improved communication between primary care providers and behavioral health specialist.
