Abstract

The main objective of this grant is to study the factors that impact the use of AI-powered tools for managing hypertension among African Americans with high blood pressure. Specifically, we aim to understand how cognitive and emotional factors such as health beliefs, digital literacy, and treatment adherence interact with aspects like stigmatization, community involvement, and cultural identity. By examining these elements, we hope to gain insights into the acceptance and utilization of AI technology in hypertension self-management within the American community. This knowledge can help us design and implement interventions tailored to their needs. Our investigation will explore the aspects influencing the adoption of AI-enabled hypertension self-management tools among American individuals facing uncontrolled hypertension.
