Abstract

Session presented on Sunday, July 26, 2015:

When technology and education are combined using pensive, student centered and learning focused design the results can provide previously impossible opportunities for students and teachers. Adaptive simulative technologies allow teachers to deliver content in a way they would never have been able to before, and simultaneously provide students with the education they need in a hands on fashion. Additionally, allowing a 'switched classroom' where students teach students can stimulate students to use higher cognitive learning skills and more critical thinking. Healthcare education is in the throes of a transformation between traditional simulation (injecting the orange) and high fidelity simulation with the opportunity to take advantage of the best of simulated instruction and the best of face-to-face instruction. Incorporating student learning as student teachers can prove to be a learning enhancement.
