Abstract

This qualitative study using thematic analysis was designed to explore how undergraduate nursing students use art therapy to promote therapeutic communication with mental health patients. Art therapy facilitated student and mental health patient communication, suggesting that the intentional use of art therapy should be integrated into nursing education.
