Many ICU patients are surviving critical illness but in return are suffering from Post-Intensive Care Syndrome (PICS). ICU diaries in the critical care setting have been suggested as a way to help decrease symptoms of PICS for ICU survivors and their families, especially the detrimental psychological effects.
