The purpose of this integrated review is to answer the question: "Is Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) being utilized to prevent/reduce ventilator induced lung injury (VILI) in the treatment of adults with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS)?"
