Plenary Session 3

Abstract

This session provides a scientific overview of the nature of translation and implementation science. The challenges associated with implementation science are described as well as suggestions for addressing these challenges. Opportunities for nurse scientists and clinicians to lead and participate in implementation science are discussed with illustrative examples provided.

Author Details

Marita G. Titler, PhD, MA, BSN, RN, FAAN, RN, FAAN - Dr. Titler is the Dumas Endowed Professor at the University of Michigan, School of Nursing. A national scholar in implementation science, she served as PI on six multi-site funded studies, and is PI on a T32 training grant. She is co-author of the book Evidence-Based Practice for Healthcare and published over 150 papers. Awards include the STTI Elizabeth McWilliams Miller Research Award, the NINR President’s award, and induction into the National Academy of Medicine.
