Abstract

A practice change initiative was implemented which aimed to reduce separation of maternal-newborn dyads after Cesarean delivery at a small community-based hospital. This study evaluated if maternal-newborn proximity after Cesarean birth improved early skin-to-skin care practices and initiation of breastfeeding within the first hour of life.
