Abstract
The impact of medication nonadherence is staggering--patients have a 5.4 times increased risk of hospitalization, re-hospitalization, or premature death low or nonadherence. A smart medication organizer was developed to address this problem by creating a partnership between patient and family member with support from a medication adherence specialist.
