Abstract

The study suggests that preterm infants receiving combinations of mother’s breast milk (BM)+heartbeat sounds (HBs)+non-nutritive sucking (NNS) and BM+HBs had significantly fewer occurrences of facial actions and body movements. The combination of mother’s BM, HBs, and NNS can alleviate behavioral stress in preterm infants during venipuncture.
