Implementing a school-based health education program to combat trending health disparities in the rural community

Abstract

The goal of this presentation is to disseminate specific health education strategies designed to reduce health disparities in rural Alabama. We implemented a twelve-week school-based health education program in the school systems, and will present outcomes on nutrition, physical activity, and mental health.
