Abstract

Regular foot self-care practice is instrumental towards effective self-management of diabetes. Evidence nevertheless revealed patients as being less inclined to comply in regular foot self-care in view of their deficiency of knowledge and behavioral response on such practices. Reviewing the current state of evidence is required to understand the learning needs and behavioral responses of diabetic patients in order to plan a diabetic foot education program that tailors their needs. This study seeks to examine relevant literature to assess factors that influence the knowledge and practice of foot self-care among diabetic patients.
