Sigma Theta Tau International the Honor Society of Nursing (Sigma) and its funding partner Johnson & Johnson, presented the Maternal-Child Health Nurse Leadership Academy Africa (MCHNLA Africa) which developed the leadership skills of maternal and child health nurses and midwives who work in a variety of healthcare settings in four countries, Malawi, Swaziland, South Africa and Uganda, in Africa. The academy prepared nurses and midwives for effective interprofessional team leadership as they strove to improve the quality of healthcare for childbearing women and children up to 5 years old.
