Seven years ventilator associated pneumonia free: The tools needed are as important as passing meds!
Abstract
A qualitative study was completed to identify why a 20 bed community hospital ICU was able to achieve no VAPs in 7 years. VAP free sustainability has been achieved through the implementation of evidence-based practice, staff engagement and ownership of VAP bundle compliance.
