Professional Identity in Nursing: Bridging the gap between nursing's professional identity and the profession's brand image
Abstract
Professional Identity in Nursing is a "sense of oneself, and in relationship with others, that is influenced by characteristics, norms, and values of the nursing discipline, resulting in an individual thinking, acting, and feeling like a nurse."

Research findings will be used to explain the dichotomy of nursing's professional identity and its inconsistent brand image. Presenters will offer strategies for creating a preferred brand image for the nursing profession while cultivating a clear understanding of professional identity for nurses.
