Abstract

Poster was presented on Wednesday, December 11, 2019

The purpose of this project is to provide hypertensive patients with an increase in knowledge of how nutrition and exercise affect blood pressure by providing self-management education. This self-management education will be accomplished by identifying a baseline of the population's current knowledge of nutrition and exercise and providing counseling regarding lifestyle modifications. Outcomes will be measured by evaluating recollection of the topics discussed through a post-test and evaluating blood pressure readings 3 weeks after lifestyle modification counseling.
