Abstract
Postpartum hemorrhage is the leading cause of maternal mortalities worldwide. Its incidence is far to common and for that reason improvement is needed. Literature is now supporting the use of tranexamic acid for parturients undergoing both cesearan sections and vaginal deliveries unless otherwise contraindicated. It should be considered on a case by case basis as an adjunctive therapy to standard oxytocin as a dual therapy to augment hemastasis.
