Abstract

The purpose of the Nurse Leader Virtual Summit is to provide an avenue for nurse leaders from various Sigma Academies and Nightingale Challenge to disseminate their leadership journey.

This session features Karen Gorton, PhD, MS, RN, FNP. Dr. Gorton came to nursing as a second professional career. She found that the opportunity to interact with patients, collaboratively problem solve and to make a difference was a good fit for her. She has earned several advanced degrees in nursing and now loves giving back to the profession within the context of leadership, volunteering and academic nursing
